Lelio Marmora

Former Executive Director, Unitaid

Lelio Marmora joined the Board in June 2020 and serves as a member of the Audit Committee and the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. Since June 2020, he has served as the President and CEO of The Management Lab Inc., a Geneva-based company providing advisory services to develop global health corporate strategies, and sits on several global health strategic advisory boards. He is a board member of the London-based MTV Foundation, the world's leading media response to HIV and AIDS, providing targeted information about the pandemic using a wide range of interventions. Mr. Marmora is also a founder and member of Santé Mondiale 2030, a French independent think-tank, bringing together Nobel Prize winners and relevant actors in the field of global health. From 2006 to 2014, he served as CEO of Unitaid, a Geneva-based investment fund investing nearly $300 million per year to promote the development and market introduction of new treatments and cutting-edge health technologies in over 100 countries. From 2006-2014, Mr. Marmora served as Director for Africa and the Middle East at the The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, overseeing an $8 billion portfolio, later serving as a board member. Earlier in his career, he worked in various executive leadership roles at a range of international organizations, including the World Bank and several UN agencies. Mr. Marmora graduated from the Université Panthéon-Assas (Paris II) with a Master’s degree in International Law and Administration of International Organizations.
